Did you know?
St James’s Place is one of the UK’s largest Wealth Management companies, with more than 3,954 Financial Advisers and over 682,000 clients investing with us.
We have grown consistently since we began trading in 1992, to become a leading FTSE 100 wealth management business today. Our Head Office is situated in the beautiful Cotswolds, we have 22 office locations across the UK, as well as premises in Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and Dublin. Across our locations you will find the core business functions that ensure, as a regulated financial services organisation, we operate in the most effective and efficient way.
We know that choosing the right career path isn’t easy. That’s why we offer a variety of graduate schemes, apprenticeships, internships and year placements to support you wherever you are on your journey. Whether you’re in sixth form, at college or studying as an undergraduate, we have a wealth of opportunities for you. To find out more, visit our careers website by clicking the link below.
If you’re a sixth form or college student or an undergraduate studying and want to know what it is like to work for a FTSE 100 company, our paid internships are developed to get you stuck into life at SJP and your assigned area from day one. Your 4–8 weeks with us will consist of working on core projects that are key to our business.
We understand that deciding whether University is right for you is a hard decision. Our apprenticeships are designed for sixth-form or college leavers – providing the support and time to continue your training and development whilst in full-time employment with the reassurance of a permanent contract from the outset.
Apprentices study a qualification which is relevant to their job role from level 3 to degree level apprenticeships, undertake their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award and are a valued member of a team in the business.
SJP offers two brilliant options for graduates, the Rotational Programme and the Specialist Programme. Graduates with a keen interest in a particular area of the business can join us as a Specialist to start their career within this particular field and study a qualification that is aligned to their area of expertise and work requirements.
Alternatively, for all-rounders or those not sure which area of the business they’d like to go into, we have created a rotational programme with development and training in mind, which exposes exceptional young employees to a variety of departments over 3 years.
Our approach is simple: we are a people business and our people are our most important asset. Graduates can expect to be exposed to senior management from day one as well as be involved in a diverse range of activities and projects.
Our 12-month Placement programme is a new initiative for 2019 that aims to give undergraduates a detailed experience of our business. The programme is split into two six-month placements, within two areas of the business such as Client Services, Business Assurance, Investment Management, Technology and Corporate Strategy.
With a tailored induction, workshops to develop your skills and regular feedback, the opportunity will set you up to potentially return or apply at university with new knowledge and a deeper understanding of your career path
Career Insight Days:
We recognise that choosing the right career path needs a lot of exploring, thinking and exposure to make the right choice. To help you understand if financial services is the right industry for you, we hold Career Insight Days across the year.
Sixth Form students through to Undergraduates are welcome to attend one of our Career Insight Days.
There are four Career Insight Days held each year at the SJP offices in Cirencester and London. The days typically start at 09:45 and end at 16:00. Delegates will have the opportunity to meet some of our current apprentices and graduates during a networking lunch and will also hear from various people across the business about SJP and the career opportunities available
