Starting out as a Team Member, the Pret Apprenticeship can take you all the way to a fully-funded BA Business Management Undergraduate degree. In other words… if you want it, you can get a degree for free. No cost to you. No need for university!

You’ll be paid a salary throughout your apprenticeship and can progress at your own pace. So long as you’re curious about what a career in hospitality can do for you, we’ll support you with everything you need to grow with Pret.

What’s the recruitment process like?

Good news – you don’t need qualifications, experience or a long list of skills to apply! Here at Pret, we care more about your personal qualities and how you approach life. (PS – taking the initiative to apply for a Pret apprenticeship is an amazing way to impress us from the get-go).

If you have enthusiasm for trying new things and you like the idea of working in teams and growing in confidence and knowledge, we can help with the rest.

Our recruitment process is based on values and behaviours, and you’ll get an in-person shop interview.

Once you’ve successfully applied for a Pret apprenticeship, you’ll be welcomed into your new role with an induction and onboarding to help you settle in, and additional wellbeing packages.

Pret Experience Days and Virtual Work Experience

The Experience Days are created by Pret and are aligned to your apprenticeship programme. You will have the opportunity to discover different areas of the business, whilst meeting other apprentices. The additional knowledge you’ll gain will also support you to prepare for your projects that are required through your apprenticeship.

These Experience Days are an invaluable insight into what makes Pret, Pret! They are one of a kind in the industry.

More recently we have introduced our Virtual Work Experience programme as a fast track route into our Apprenticeship opportunities.

About our mission
Since its establishment in 1986, Pret A Manger’s mission has been a simple one – “to serve freshly made food and good, organic coffee whilst also trying to do the right thing.” A great example of this is Pret’s use of paper packaging, rather than plastic.

Pret’s food is always handmade in shop kitchens, and anything not sold goes to charity. Pret’s coffee is (and always will be) 100% organic, and the Pret Coffee Fund supports the next generation of farmers.
