Volunteer as a Youth Ambassador

become a youth ambassador

Volunteer with us and you'll gain so much more than something great to put on your CV.

Our Youth Ambassadors here at Youth Employment UK are a dynamic team of volunteers working together to help tackle some of the youth employment barriers young people experience.

The Youth Ambassador Volunteer Programme

You can volunteer if you:

  • Are aged 16-24
  • Live in the UK
  • Have past experience of studying or working in the UK

Our Youth Ambassador programme is open all year round. You can join wherever you live, and whatever your interests and background are. You can attend events and enjoy amazing opportunities all over the country – and even abroad! Where you live won’t hold you back because we also do a lot of volunteer work online, and you can be an active part of that.

When you volunteer with us as a Youth Ambassador, we ask only that you aim to commit to 10 hours a month. In exchange you get lots of training, support and mentoring – we’re here to help you every step of the way.

A great way to build your life and work skills

What could you be doing in those 1o hours of volunteering a month? Activities that will look great on your CV, but are also exciting to do. Some examples:

We try to make sure that you will be working on projects that are of real interest to you. Our support team will help you build your life and work experience skills, and you’ll also develop a fantastic network of contacts who could help you along in life – because we’re all stronger together.

How to join

Become a volunteer Youth Ambassador in three simple steps. Please note that you will need a Facebook account to get properly involved and communicate with us. We support our Ambassadors through a closed Facebook group.

Alexa Jane – Youth Ambassador

Alexa - Jane

“I joined YEUK as the work that they promoted on their website looked like something I would be interested in. I have been given great opportunities to network and build my skills, as I have completed my NVQ L4 Diploma in IAG and safeguarding training with NCC. I was really happy to meet other Youth Ambassadors as we all have a lot in common. We are passionate about youth issues and want to bring about positive changes. We all have different causes, but we are a collective force for change.”

Kenechi Eziefula – Youth Ambassador

“My desire is to challenge government and business on their youth employment policies, and aid the development of strategies that provide adequate pathways for the next generation of British, and global, youth to cultivate their talents and passions into employment.”

Indi Sira – Youth Ambassador representative

“My journey so far with Youth Employment UK has prompted me to question the notion of how my actions can have a wider impact on young people today and therefore has motivated me to never give up on doing what is right.”

Our Youth Ambassador volunteering programme is youth-led and shaped by the principles of great youth social action.
