ABP joined our Employer Profile Holder community last month and with fourteen sites throughout England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, ABP’s UK division has established itself as one of the country’s foremost food manufacturers and are keen to ensure that their brand is shared with the million plus young people using our website each year.
We will be supporting ABP with their early careers inspiration and attraction as they promote their apprenticeship and graduate opportunities. They are also set to be a large provider of kickstart opportunities in the near future, with more than 30 roles having been identified across their sites.
Taking a closer look at Kickstart
The Kickstart Scheme will be open to people 16-24 years old, who are claiming Universal Credit, and are at risk of long-term unemployment. ABP UK have a number of vacancies across all of their UK and Scotland sites offering long term employment opportunities and careers within the food industry.
ABP UK are extremely keen to help young people at risk of long-term unemployment get back into the job market through the Kickstart Scheme, created through Plan for Jobs. The Kickstart Scheme is a six-month high-quality work programme, of which ABP UK has been working very closely with the Department of Working Pensions to ensure opportunities are available to those that are seeking to develop their skills and experience and find long term career opportunities.
ABP UK will help those participants through:
- Communication skills
- Support through providing a mentor and buddy whilst at work, allowing participants to gain full training with opportunities to develop into a permanent role
- Rotational training programmes to provide a complete understanding of all roles available within the business.
- Support with CV, interview preparation and application skills to assist participants with knowledge and experience for the future
