Early Years Practitioner – Level 2 apprenticeship

  • Duration: 12 months apprenticeship + 8 weeks End Point Assessment

Who is this apprenticeship suitable for?

This apprenticeship is perfect for nursery and childminding assistants, or school leavers with a strong interest in childcare and early years education.

Where could you work?

If you apply for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship with Paragon Skills, you could work in a range of private and public settings. These include full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools, reception classes, playgroups, nursery schools, home-based provision, hospitals, social care settings, out-of-school environments, and local authority provision to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements set by the government for the learning, development, and care of children from birth to 5 in both indoor and outdoor environments.

What will you be doing?

As part of your apprenticeship, you will work and interact directly with children on a day-to-day basis supporting the planning of and delivery of activities, purposeful play opportunities, and educational programmes within the ethos of the setting. You’ll work as part of a professional team ensuring the welfare and care of children under the guidance and supervision of an Early Years Educator, teacher, or another suitably qualified professional in the Early Years Workforce.

Who is this apprenticeship suitable for?

This apprenticeship is perfect if you’re looking for a career in early years childcare and education, or you already work in childcare.

Where could you work?

Early Years Educators work in a range of settings including full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools, reception classes and as childminders. They may either be working on their own or supervising others to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements set by the government for the learning, development, and care of children from birth to 5 years old.

What will you be doing?

Early Years Educators, and other job roles such as nursery nurse and childminders, are trained professionals who play a key role in ensuring that young children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. Children will always need someone to look after them and help them learn and grow, so it can be a job for life.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will get structured training with both learning and practical activities, with plenty of supervision, mentoring and support.
