2019 Youth Ambassador Board Elected

I am delighted to announce that at our AGM last night we recruited the 2019 Ambassador Board.

Our Ambassadors are fundamental to the work we do and the Ambassador Board is made up of our young volunteers who want to take on the responsibility of ensuring that we as an organisation remain committed to our objectives and deliver the very best outcomes for young people in our network.

Since 2012 young people have shaped our work, co-designing our offer including the Young Professional and Careers Hub as well as taking a lead role in created the Youth Friendly Employer Award Criteria. It was through their lived experiences that we saw the need to support employers to remove barriers to employment and ensure good quality experiences were on offer to the widest most diverse group of brilliant young people.

As we go into our 7th year our Youth Board will be focused on supporting our national network of Ambassadors, representing our youth member views at events and preparing us for our Annual Youth Friendly Employer Awards Celebration in November.

Lead by long-standing volunteer Ambassador Patrick Cantellow the board will also work closely with the senior team to ensure we are fulfilling our core objectives –

  • To give young people a voice and empower them to be more prepared for the world of work
  • To help organisations be better equipped to support young people and adopt Youth Friendly Principles
  • To ensure that government policy is geared towards the real needs of young people
