Results Day Top Tips From Volunteer Youth Ambassadors

Nervous about Results Day? Not sure what to expect? You’re not alone – many other young people around the UK will be feeling the same way about receiving their results.

Our volunteer Youth Ambassadors have been through this important time too and have provided some tips for those who are preparing to receive their results.

Whether it’s GCSE’s, A-Levels, or any other qualification, these words of wisdom will help keep you grounded and remind you that no matter what happens, your grades don’t define you! You have the skills to make exciting choices, and shape your future.

“My advice would be to plan something the day or night before to keep your mind off it. Keep social media to a minimum, as other people’s nervous energy can rub off on you! It also helps not to compare yourself. If you’re disappointed with your results, just remember you tried your best and that’s all you could do. Try not to be hard on yourself, you’ve got this!” – Eden

“If I could give advice to those awaiting results, it would be that your grades don’t define who you are. It is your morals, beliefs and your actions that carve the path you take.” – Ben

“Take time to read your results on your own and don’t let other people tell you how to feel. Take you time to let it sink in. Try not to feel pressure to tell others about your results.” – Ella

“Plan for different scenarios – always hope for the best, but plan for the worst. Remember that your results are not the be all and end all – use them as an opportunity to identify areas you are weaker in where you can improve!” – Sophie

“My advice would be to have a plan B, just in case you don’t get the results you expected – don’t be reliant on those grades. Have confidence and don’t doubt yourself! Try not to stress unnecessarily. Also, book in time with friends or family to have something to look forward to afterwards.” – Harrison
