Employer description: Wickham Market Medical Centre is a rural practice based in Wickham Market and also provides a branch surgery service in Rendlesham. We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including minor surgery, minor injuries, childhood vaccinations and travel vaccinations.
Main description
Wickham Market Medical Centre is a GP Practice looking to employ an Healthcare Assistant Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin a career in the health sector and gain work experience within a NHS environment. We are a friendly practice with amazing teams who all share the same work ethic and values.
The Apprentice will work as part of the Wickham Market Medical Centre nursing team. The hours will be Monday to Friday 9am- 5pm with an hour for lunch. There will be a variety of tasks to undertake in a timely manner which may vary from day to day. The role will include but will not be limited to;
- Assist clinical staff in provision of treatment
- Health Promotion campaigns
- Blood pressure readings
- Taking blood samples (venepuncture)
- Perform NHS Health Checks
