Introducing Get Connected!

Here at YEUK, we love to introduce the orgs we are talking to that can offer help, advice and resources that can support all young people. Whether that’s employment support or all round. This month we would like to share with you information on Get Connected.

Get Connected is the UK’s free, confidential helpline service for young people under 25 who GC logo with straplineneed help, but don’t know where to turn. We can help with whatever you’re going through and you can reach us over the phone, by text, email or web chat, plus you can use our online directory or help app.

Our service is available 365 days a year and when you get in touch, one of our trained Helpline Volunteers will help you to explore your issues however you feel comfortable. They offer emotional support and can let you know about appropriate sources of further specialist help from our database of almost 9,000 trusted organisations across the country.

So what can you expect when you contact Get Connected?

  1. We’ll help you work through the problem – our Helpline Volunteer will chat to you about your situation, listening without hurrying you so you can explain what’s going on. It’s completely up to you how much you want to tell us, and we will never judge you for whatever you say.
  2. We’ll check what your options are – when we know a bit more about your situation, we’ll ask what kind of help you might be after and how you’d like to receive it. We can then check our database to try and find the services that could work for you.
  3. We can connect you to further help – what happens next is up to you. If you’d like contact information for other services, we can text the details to you for free. If a service is open and available over the phone, we can also connect you straight through for free, and stay on the line to introduce you and make sure you’re comfortable.

We’re free, we’re friendly, we don’t judge and we won’t tell. Visit www.getconnected.org.uk to find out more.
