What you’ll be doing

Our security team work with over 5,500 global customers our work has a real impact all around the world. Our award-winning apprenticeship programme offers you the opportunity to gain qualifications, hands-on experience as well as personal and professional development.  You’ll help to ensure that the world continues to connect safely as we look to protect our services, governments, FTSE 500 companies, and our millions of customers from over 4,000 cybersecurity attacks every day.

We’re looking for people who put customers first, and care about the experience they have with us. In this role, you’ll be supporting some of our many government customers who use our security products, so you’ll be at the cutting edge of technology.

When you join us, we’ll teach you all about our different services, so you’re really prepared to provide a tailored support service to our customers, so you can help pick the right solution for them. You will take the time to fully understand the customers technical issue and learn to perform a broad range of potential technical fixes, and document it to a high standard.  Of course, working with customers isn’t always straightforward, and so when things haven’t gone according to plan, you’ll learn to use your judgement and make the right calls for both customers and BT, and when you’ve made a promise to a customer, you’ll always stick to your word.

We want our team to be the very best it can be, so we’re looking for people who can build a personal connection with our customers.  Letting them know you understand their problem and that you’ll do your very best to help makes a big difference to customers. So, if you’re good at building relationships with people, you’ll fit right in.

About the apprenticeship 

As Customer Service Specialist, you’ll study for a Level 3 apprenticeship called Customer Service Practitioner.

  • Your apprenticeship will run for 18 months
  • You’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying.

Completion of this apprenticeship will also make you eligible to join the Institute of Customer Service as an Individual member at Professional Level.
