Our Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD) higher apprenticeship programme is designed to attract and develop future supervisors and managers. We are looking for enthusiastic post A Level candidates who are keen to learn and develop leadership skills in a hands-on environment.

You will have real responsibilities from early on in your career and the opportunity to learn something new every day. As a trusted member of the team, you will have the freedom to manage your own time and have involvement in projects essential to the continuous development of our products.

Role

Alongside your day-to-day role on site, you will also ‘earn while you learn’ by completing a higher apprenticeship in mineral products technology. Upon completion of your apprenticeship your qualifications can be topped up to a full Bachelor of Science honors degree in minerals management. All study is fully funded by Hanson, and you will be paid a competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package, supported by a mentor as well as your line manager.

During the three-year programme you are gaining experience and relevant qualifications in operational aspects of our business alongside blended learning delivered by The University of Derby. From year four onwards you could progress to a supervisory role whilst studying towards an honors degree.

Skills / Experience

Key requirements for this fantastic opportunity:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths, English and Science
  • 80 UCAS points, 2 A-C A Levels or equivalent including a STEM subject
  • Full UK driving license (or at least have this in place by August 2023)
  • Must be willing and able to relocate at any stage during the programme to benefit from the opportunities on offer.
