At our service in St Austell, we support adults with Learning Disabilities/autism and behaviours that challenge.

We provide a home for adults diagnosed with a Learning Disability, who may also have challenging behaviour and associated Mental Health needs.

The aim of Woodside Farm House is to provide a high-quality service within a homely environment for people who have a learning disability, in which continuous encouragement, fulfilment, education and stimulation are the core elements in the daily life for the people who live in the home. The high-quality care provided will enable people to achieve their own personal objectives in ways that are generally valued in our society.

Woodside Farm House is a Residential Care Home consisting of two flats within the main dwelling with six En-suite bedrooms, two in the upstairs flat and four in the downstairs flat. It also has a bungalow which has two one-bedroom flats. Woodside Farm House has a main house and a bungalow and will be a long-term residential care placement for people, who have either a history of previous placement breakdowns or are being discharged from a long stay hospital and are ready to move on.

Key responsibilities

  • To provide proactive, positive and caring support to adults living in our Service
  • To enable people to learn new skills towards living more independently
  • To assist and provide individuals with support for their emotional and practical needs
  • To work effectively as part of a team and have a ‘can do’ attitude
  • To be a part of developing and implementing person centred care plans

Details

    • Full time waking nights available
    • £11.40 hourly rate
    • Shifts are on a Rota basis, 10 Hours per night, 21.30pm-7.30am, 7 nights per fortnight, working every other weekend
    • A commitment to train towards gaining relevant qualifications is essential.
    • Training and full induction package will be provided to successful candidates.
