Supply Chain Assistant Apprenticeship opportunity with Northgate Lighting Ltd – Leeds #CreateYourFuture

Chasing Overdue Purchase Orders:

• Chasing overdue purchase orders with suppliers
• Re-dating the system and effectively communicating delays to the wider business
• Dealing with queries / questions from suppliers
• Scores tracked from a report called DDQ (delivery date quality)

Obtaining Prices:

• Assisting the sales team by obtaining prices from suppliers.
• Contacting the supplier by phone or email with quantities and delivery timescales to obtain the best price
• Feeding this information back to the sales team in a timely manner

Invoice Queries:

• Checking queries on invoices including wrong value, wrong quantity, wrong stock, goods not received etc.
• Contacting suppliers as necessary and investigating the issues
• Providing corrected / approved checked invoices to Accounts within agreed timescales

Discontinued Stock Items:

• Informing sales team of discontinued items from orders, updating the product code on Nav, removing from purchase order, sourcing an alternative product if appropriate and checking outstanding Sales orders

Product Sourcing:

• Contacting suppliers to source special orders and none stock items. Identifying opportunities for cost saving within our current product portfolio

Ancillary Purchases e.g. Packaging and Stationery:

• Liaising with the warehouse on stock counts and placing packaging orders accordingly. Monitoring stationery usage and replenishing as needed

Maintaining Non Conformance Log:

• Collating details in relation to supplier/internal non conformance and chasing through resolutions accordingly in line with our ISO quality manual

Stock Control Duties:

• Working with our stock control supervisor to maintain accurate stock levels, performing stock checks and investigating discrepancies
