This Traineeship work experience is part of an education and training programme that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. At its core is the Work Preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high-quality work experience placement.

Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work preparation training, maths, English, Digital Skills and work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or other job.

Are you eligible?

  1. Are you currently not in a job? Do you have little or no work experience?
  2. Are you aged 16 to 24 and qualified below Level 4?

Tasks will include:

  • Volunteers will be required to meet and greet customers and provide good customer service and take enquiries regarding stock or donations
  • You will be required to use the till and gift aid system and handle some cash
  • Volunteers will help organise donations of furniture and some lifting and shifting will be required
  • The shop floor will need to be kept neat and tidy and windows kept clean
  • Window and furniture displays will need rotating to keep the shop interesting and attractive to potential customer

This role will provide you with retail experience and customer service skills along with giving volunteers a sense of satisfaction in helping a local charity. Volunteers will be provided with an induction, training and ongoing support.
