Edinburgh Woollen Mill is a clothing retailer delivering excellent customer service in a friendly environment. Your work placement will last 2 weeks in one of their busy stores or concessions.

A traineeship offers you a work experience placement and an interview that could lead to an apprenticeship, job, or further training.

If you have little or no work experience and are motivated to work, then please get in touch.

You must be aged 19-24 years and be qualified below level 4 (due to funding).

Tasks could include:

• Operating the till
• Greeting customers
• Serving customers

The traineeship is unpaid, but you will get help with transport, meals, and work clothing.

The traineeship programme will give you the skills that you need to succeed in a career in retail and could lead to a retail qualification.

The overall programme lasts 10 weeks and includes 8 weeks of training and 2 weeks of work experience.

Pre-work training includes CV writing and interview technique.

If required, help will be given with English, maths, and digital skills.

To help with your training you will be given the use of a laptop, if needed.

The training will include:

• Understanding the retail sector
• Customer service
• Health & safety
• Selling
• Teamwork
• Handling stock
