Results Day Webinar – what to expect

We know that Results Day can be a scary prospect, whether you’ve taken your GCSEs, A-Levels, or any other kind of exam or assessment. The experts at this webinar can help you feel prepped and ready!

This webinar is a chance for young people to understand what to expect on results day, how they can prepare, the options that are available to them, and how they can manage anxiety and stress during this time. They will receive tips and advice as to how they can make decisions for the next stage of their life, and will hear about the experiences of other young people on their results day.

Topics we’ll be covering:

  • What to expect on the day
  • How you can prepare
  • What you can do if your results aren’t what you expected
  • How to calm your nerves on the day
  • Got a question? Ask an expert!

Speakers

You’ll be plugged into the wise words and friendly pep talks of experts, Youth Friendly Employers, careers leaders… and young people who have been in your shoes and are more than happy to share their own journeys of what happened next after Results Day.

  • Careers Expert – Gina Visram
  • Vise Mental Fitness – Jacqueline Weeks
  • Youth Ambassadors – Kelsey and Gloria
  • Apprentices – Kim and Hayden
  • Vocational options – Patrick Craven, City & Guilds

Agenda

Careers expert – Gina Visram

Gina is on hand to talk about what to expect on results day – how it will look, how to prepare, what if your results are not expected, what are your options, how to go about clearing.

Vocational Options – Patrick Craven from City & Guilds

Patrick will discuss vocational options for 16-19 education, including T-Levels, and why they might be a good option for a young person.

Apprenticeship – Experiences

Youth Employment UK’s L3 and L4 digital marketing apprentices Kim and Hayden will share their experiences of taking on an apprenticeship – what made them decide to do one and how the experience has been.

Coach Core – Amy Fazackerley

Amy will introduce Coach Core and the work they do with employers/training providers. She will introduce Coach Core’s “Results aren’t everything campaign” highlighting the successes that some of their young people have had despite not receiving the results they had initially hoped for.

Youth Ambassador Experience – Gloria and Kelsey

Gloria and Kelsey will talk about their experience of results day, how they felt beforehand, what happened on the day, and their top tips.

Mental Health Support – Jacs Weeks, Vise Mental Fitness

Jacs will discuss how results day can be a challenging time in a number of ways for young people, and offer some ways to support young people, whatever the results happen to be – particularly that grades do not define your value.

Youth Employment – Sarah Latimer, Education Lead

Sarah will share an overview of Youth Employment’s free online skills and careers resources, and how young people can build on the 5 key employability skills, no matter what their results are, and where they can look for opportunities.

Q&A session – ask an expert!

This will be an opportunity for Webinar guests to ask questions to any guest speakers you like!
