Traineeship details

 

As part of your role within University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, you will receive work preparation training, Functional Skills (if required) and a full NHS induction which will include safeguarding and PREVENT training.

As part of your placement you will receive training on patient care, legal requirements of the role and be mentored when supporting adults on the ward. We have placements in a variety of departments throughout the hospital.

The Nursing Assistant will develop the skills to be competent to provide compassionate nursing care to agreed quality standards. The Nursing Assistant will develop through education, training and clinical practice the fundamental skills, knowledge and competencies to work in the clinical environment.

About traineeships

A traineeship is a course with work experience that gets you ready for work or an apprenticeship. It can last up to 12 months.
You can apply if you’re:

  • eligible to work in England
  • unemployed and have little or no work experience
  • aged 16 to 24 and qualified below Level 4

You’ll get:

  • a work experience placement
  • help with English and maths (if you need it)

You won’t be paid, but you may be given expenses for things like travel and meals.
