About the opportunity

Reporting to the Packing Supervisor and working as part of a team to ensure that the meat is packed and within customer specifications.

Ideally should be used to working in a fast paced and hands on position, be well organised with the ability to maintain attention to detail whilst working under pressure in a busy working environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To ensure that all product is packed to meet customer/company specifications, whilst also maximizing yield and minimizing waste.
  • To ensure all tasks performed are as per training given and safe working procedures
  • To work to agreed training plan, bringing any skill shortfalls/difficulties to the attention of the Packing Supervisor.
  • Ensure understanding of expected standards and targets before commencing any task.
  • To carry out all assigned tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, particularly with regard to H&S and Food Safety.
  • Any other duties as required

Knowledge & Experience

  • The successful candidate should ideally be familiar with this kind of work and be used to working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment is beneficial or in a similarly demanding working environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Keen and willing to learn
  • Able to use own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Knowledge of hygiene and food safety
  • Able to work as part of a team
