About NFL International

NFL International is one of the League’s fastest growing business areas and our mission is to grow our fan base and deepen engagement globally. NFL International comprises of offices in Canada, China, UK and Mexico and significant in-market activities in Germany, Australia and Brazil. The local offices are responsible for operations outside of the US, including marketing, events and sponsorship, with central management and media driven out of the New York headquarters.

NFL UK Overview

The NFL UK office manages the NFL’s business in the UK, including the staging of regular-season games in London, broadcast and commercial relationships, grassroots and community activity, fan events and marketing initiatives. The NFL has staged 30 games in London since 2007 and will play three more in 2022, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the only purpose-built NFL stadium outside of the USA, and Wembley Stadium.

The Programme

We are pleased to launch an Internship Programme in line with our Inspire Change & Diversity commitments. This unparalleled opportunity focuses on helping students from underrepresented and under-served communities to gain work experience and insight into the sports industry. As we strive to hire the right talent for the right roles at all levels and functions within the organization, we hope to pro-actively diversify our talent pipeline.

We are looking to fill 3 seven-month internships. The internships will be full-time paid roles and, although the candidates will be allocated to work within specific departments, they can explore all aspects of the business of professional American football through challenging project assignments, mentoring relationships and networking opportunities.

Our Ideal Candidate Profile

The NFL strongly encourages individuals from underrepresented groups and diverse backgrounds of all types to apply. Applicants must be 18-24 years of age at time of internship and legally permitted to work in the UK. If selected for the programme, applicants must be available for the start of the programme in August 2022.

Preferred Qualifications

– Completed GCSE education
– Some prior work experience is preferred
– Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Ideal Characteristics

– Forward-thinking and able to suggest new ideas
– Proactive with a creative mind
– Great interpersonal and communication skills
– Interest in working in professional sports
– Good timekeeping, time management and a positive work ethic
– Comfortable to adapt to a different environment and work collaboratively

– A letter detailing your reason for interest in the internship, what this opportunity would mean to you and your career development.
– A letter of recommendation. This can come from anyone in your life, such as a teacher, coach, supervisor, family member etc.
– Applicants are also encouraged to submit supporting materials for the application, such as academic or personal projects, social media pages (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, Twitter), Highlight Videos, etc. (up to a maximum of 3 examples)
