About the opportunity

Environment Agency are looking for enthusiastic people who can use initiative to solve problems. You’ll play a key role in resolving issues or repairing equipment, ensuring that the Environment Agency is best prepared to respond during environmental incidents; helping to protect people and livelihoods from the impacts of flooding.

This is an entry level role, and you’ll be provided with full on the job training led by experienced team members as well as formal training provided by external training suppliers. You will be fully comfortable in the role before being asked to complete any site visits on your own.

They will be hybrid roles and applicants can be based at one of the following offices – Kidderminster , Tewkesbury , Fradley. These are entry level positions.

Experience/skills required

  • A positive can-do attitude and a passion for learning and protecting the environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills as you will be working as part of a team and will have contact with the public.
  • Confidence with using IT systems, in particular Microsoft Office programmes
  • Logical and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Numerate

Due to the nature of the role the below criteria are essential:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • You must be able to swim as you will often be working in/near water.
  • You will be required to pass colour vision tests prior to appointment as you will have to maintain electrical equipment with multi coloured wiring.
