This traineeship is a pre-apprenticeship programme delivering teaching & training from Catch 22 to prepare candidates for work within the hospitality sector.

What you will learn

  • Work safely around kitchen equipment and H&S procedures
  • Prepare and cook in a busy environment
  • Keep kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic at all times
  • Keep serving areas clean, tidy and hygienic at all times
  • Keep up to date with new products and food allergens
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and licensing laws
  • Carry out instructions as given by management
  • Serve customers in a friendly and appropriate way

You will receive teaching & training around:

  • Functional Skills English & maths (if required)
  • Employability Skills (including CV writing, job application skills, interview skills)
  • Digital Skills
  • Vocational Qualifications such as- Customer Service (City & Guilds), Level 2 Food Allergen Awareness or Health Safety & Hygiene

The programme includes one – two shifts of work experience per week within the kitchen or restaurant.

This will give you the opportunity to experience the life of a hospitality assistant and chef.

Putting the skills you have learnt from the classroom training, you will work within a team, learning the skills and behaviours required to excel within the hospitality sector.

Who are eligible?

  • Currretly unemployed
  • Little or no work experience
  • Aged 16 to 24
  • Qualified below Level 4
