Apprentice Commis Chef with Scream For Pizza Ltd – 31st August #CreateYourFuture

The apprentice will support in the preparation of meals, including the use of a wood fired oven to create their signature pizzas. You will also support in maintaining excellent cleanliness standards and managing the quality and quantity of stock.

The role includes the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Learn the process of making Neapolitan pizza dough and baking pizza at 450c in a wood fired oven.
  • Maintaining a high cleaning standard at the dough preparation unit as well as ensuring the best food food practises and kitchen hygiene protocols are adhered to.
  • Assist in operating commercial cooking equipment such as hobs, food processors and fryers and preparing the kitchen for service.
  • Preparing meal ingredients.
  • Preparing simple menu items in service, dependent upon location, most particularly at quieter times to develop skills in service
  • Developing food knowledge and knowledge of menu items
  • Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality.
  • Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
  • Discarding all expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that work stations are properly sanitized.
  • Plating and presenting meal items as per the Chef/s instructions.
