About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the University of Oxford as an Apprentice Administrative Assistant in the Department of Sociology.

You will have the opportunity to undertake First Aid training to become a First Aider, and to support administration for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives. Although you will be formally line managed by Sociology’s Senior HR Officer, you will receive supervision and training from most members of the team as you explore different areas of business administration.

The Department of Sociology is located next to the river, with picnic benches on the riverside to use in warm weather, and is close to the train station. We are located in a modern, recently refurbished building consisting of offices on three floors. Sociology is part of the University’s Social Sciences Division; our researchers’ work addresses varied real world problems including topics such as inequality, family sociology, and criminology. Sociology does not have any undergraduate students but has postgraduate students studying towards Master’s and DPhil degrees. To learn more, visit https://www.sociology.ox.ac.uk/.
