The project consists of 11-week workshops on different aspects of leadership and provides employment support with CV workshops and access to new opportunities.
Sessions will begin on Tuesday 30 November at 6pm with travel and food expenses covered.
What is the Lead and Be Lead Programme?
ATM developed the Young Leaders ‘Lead and be Led’ project in 2017 to enhance the skills of young people to realise their potential through their asset-based and become young ambassadors within their communities. The model aimed to develop young people who then share their skills with their peers. The project focused on core skills and attributes needed in today’s society which emphasises social and emotional competencies, including self-awareness, collaboration, empathy, relationship-building, and the ability to lead through authenticity rather than by authority. This means that we want young people to lead with kindness and earned respect rather than privilege or inequality.
Previous participants have gained employment, training, and mentoring support within our networks. Participants also have a chance to join the youth board and receive volunteering/work experience from Anti-Tribalism Movement networks. The sole requirement to join this programme is to be a young person aged 16-24.
This project supports young people by providing the following:
- A leadership toolkit to aid young people once they complete the workshops
- 1-to-1 mentoring and youth support
- CV and cover letter training
- Access to exclusive opportunities and training (employment, volunteering, and internships)
- Campaign and project management development
- Specialised skills support
- Community engagement support
- Skills to bridge the gap between young people and stakeholders
