This is a finance role working with the Subscriptions business. Working in a team with two others, this role will produce and analyse the forecast, budget and month end processes for our magazine subscriptions.
Role Responsibility
Planning (30%)
Produce annual budget including subscriber volume, retention and revenue for your group of titles in the subscriptions business
Maintain and update rolling forecast on a monthly basis for subscriptions on your group of magazines
Monitor and track monthly marketing spend and other costs
Collaborate with wider finance and operational teams to support on the creation of long range strategic plans
Financial Reporting (30%)
Review month end results against forecast to ensure accuracy and explain variances
Assist Reporting accountants with correctly reporting spend
Review purchase orders to monitor and control spend
Support on KPI production around weekly sales, Monthly subscription performance
Support on month end reporting
Analysis and Reporting (30%)
Work with subscriptions team to create monthly KPIs and subscription results reporting, developing insightful analysis for the business
Provide commercial finance analysis to support ad hoc subscriptions and marketing projects, eg, improving marketing efficiency
Own completion of the actual retention data as part of month end duties.
Process Improvement (10%)
Look for potential improvements in processes and gaps in what we do – with a view to supporting the business better on decision making
The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience as an Analyst
Strong commercial acumen and exceptional attention to detail combined with proactive can-do attitude
Comfortable analysing large quantities of data and communicating insights to both financial and non-financial audiences
Experience of working with Excel, including pivot tables and other analytical functions
Able to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities
