Youth Evidence Review : DCMS

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has published two parts of a review it commissioned from NatCen before the pandemic looking at young people’s lives to inform government thinking on youth policy.

The Youth Evidence Review includes a deep dive involving eight focus groups of young people and a rapid evidence assessment. The deep dive details what young people felt was missing from youth provision, including:

  • Mental health support
  • Career and future planning support
  • Reporting racism
  • Spaces to hang out
  • Spaces to study outside home
  • Activities to prevent anti-social behaviour
  • Inclusive spaces accessible to a diversity of young people

This report looks at Youth Employment UK’s 2019 Youth Voice Census findings, to see the 2020 report and find out more about where young people are right now.
