Hi I’m Ella Smith and I work at Thornwick Bay in the Food and Beverage department. This is my second summer working at Haven.
What do you enjoy most about working at Haven?
Coming in everyday and seeing all the team, meeting all the guests with a smile on my face.
What advice would you give someone thinking about a summer job at Haven?
Don’t be nervous. Everyone at Haven is really nice, and you will find that you do fit in.
What is a typical day like?
Saying hi to everyone, getting ready for the day by getting my uniform ready, getting all organised and checking what section I am working in so I know how I will be helping out that day.
I usually serve drinks and help to serve and meet guests.
Would you recommend someone join Haven for a summer job?
I would really recommend starting a Summer job at Haven. It’s a nice place to be and the people you work with help you to feel really included.
What skills have you learned while working at Haven?
Communication skills, I used to be very nervous and anxious about speaking to people. I am more confident and talkative now. Too talkative sometimes!
Would you like to continue your career with Haven?
I want to go into musical theatre so I would love to progress from Food and beverage to the entertainment team as that would support my long term career goals.
