Summary of Offering

LLCs employability training and support, is delivered flexibly to meet employer’s needs, as part of the Kickstart programme.  This will be delivered through our high-quality virtual learning platform, providing young people with the opportunity to access learning flexibly, at a time and pace to suit their individual needs.

In addition, our young people will have a dedicated tutor to guide and support them through the development of their work skills and enable them to successfully achieve an employability certificate.  LLC will also provide a Work Placement Coach to support both the employer and their Kickstart young person throughout the 6-month programme and beyond to enable them to progress to employment, apprenticeships or further education as appropriate.  The Work Placement Coach will mentor the young person to develop their basic work skills including:

  • attendance
  • timekeeping
  • communication
  • teamwork
  • travelling to work
  • developing their CV
  • preparing for interviews

The work coach will also act as a resource for the employer, helping to identify any issues and providing support to both parties to ensure the young person is fully engaged in the opportunity and retained on the programme to a positive progression outcome.  Beyond the Kickstart programme, the Work Placement Coach will support the young person to either transition to a permanent role with their placement employer or will provide Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) to enable them to apply for other job vacancies as well as apprenticeships.  Where appropriate LLC will also support young people to access education to continue their learning journey.

LLC holds direct contracts with the ESFA and GLA and can provide positive progression outcomes for our Kickstart young people inc. a string of networks with employers and service providers to ensure they do not revert to becoming NEET.

We continue to communicate with Kickstarters beyond their engagement on our programmes, at 1, 3 and 6 months to determine their status regarding retaining their progression outcome.  Where young people have disengaged with education or employment, we continue to provide them with IAG to enable them to reengage where possible, helping to develop a culture of support and lifelong learning.
