Register now for the WorldSkills UK International Skills Summit, which is taking place on Tuesday 26 April 2022, 10am to 3pm. This hybrid event is free to attend and will focus on the role high-quality skills and apprenticeships play in driving the UK economy.

Unveiling the Skills Taskforce for Global Britain

The WorldSkills UK International Skills Summit hosted in partnership with NCFE, BCS and Glasgow City College will be chaired by acclaimed current affairs broadcaster Kirsty Wark anchor for the BBC’s Newsnight programme for 25 years.

Taking place at Glasgow City College on 26 April between 10 am and 3pm the summit is free of charge to delegates through registering to tune in to the online broadcast, or to attend in person.

The event’s focus is the unveiling of the Skills Taskforce for Global Britain report outlining how the UK can develop internationally in-demand skills to attract much-needed inward investment and support the Government’s levelling up agenda. This interaction of investment and skills development will help the UK to develop a skills-led economy, enabling businesses to compete more effectively domestically and overseas.

The event will be hosted by BBC broadcaster Kirsty Wark, and confirmed speakers to date include Jamie Hepburn MSP, Minister for Higher Education and Further Education, Youth Employment and Training; John Cridland, Chair of WorldSkills UK’s Skills Taskforce for Global Britain; Neil Rami, CEO of West Midlands Growth Company; David Hughes, CEO of Association of Colleges; Will Tanner, Director of Onward; Josie Cluer, Partner, EY and Marie-Therese McGivern, Director Invest Northern Ireland.
