Summary of Offering

Incubated by charity and social business Catch22, Kickstart Community brings together purposeful employers and young people for Kickstart placements with a difference.

For candidates, we offer:

PRE-PLACEMENT SUPPORT

• Contact within 48hrs of calling Kickstart Community
• A Career Advisor to develop an aspiration-based career plan 
• The chance to gain employability skills through digital support, including webinars (e.g. CV and cover letter writing) and online training (e.g. Google Digital Garage effective networking course)

IN-PLACEMENT SUPPORT 

1. On-demand support via text, email or phone from their Careers Advisor
2. 6 months in-work support to overcome challenges such as timekeeping, or adjusting to a new working environment. Bursaries are available to cover training, work clothes or travel costs.
3. Opportunities for further training (e.g. Accenture Future Learn Platform) or volunteering with a local civic organisation (e.g. Red Cross).  
4. Advice on sector-specific skills training (e.g. customer service, hospitality, digital  etc.)

POST-PLACEMENT SUPPORT 

• Support to secure a permanent job through a guaranteed interview scheme.  
• Review of local vacancies, utilising our employer network e.g Microsoft, JP Morgan 

For employers we offer:

• Regional Employer Engagement Manager to carry out initial screenings, manage placements
• Training for the employers’ workforce focusing supporting participants. 
• Spotlight meetings with JCPs and Employers 
• Access to our Employer Summits, delivering webinars on key topics to help employers 
• Support on best recruitment practice e.g. anti-discrimination practices.
