Supporting Young People’s Mental Health Symposium Session

This symposium session highlights the key issues young people are facing with their mental health and wellbeing especially with the added issues and pressures of Covid 19.

Youth Ambassador Chair, Deuvaunn welcomed our attendees to our Supporting Young People’s Mental Health Mental Health Symposium Session today, the fifth session of our week long Symposium series.

Deuvaunn was joined by Martina Kane, The Health Foundation, Dan Charlish, Snow Camp, Drue , McDonald’s and Youth Ambassador Laurence.

This session gives a better understanding of the issues being faced by young people struggling with mental health. We are hearing more frequently that young people are anxious and have growing mental health needs. In addition we know from both our Youth Voice Census and from our network of young people that those concerns are compounded as they worry about employment and long cycles of inactivity.

As youth unemployment continues to climb there are big questions on the role that employers can play in supporting and understanding these issues.
