Worried about redundancy?

If you are an apprentice in Sandwell and have been made redundant, or you believe you are at risk of redundancy, support is available. Your college or training provider will work with you to secure a new employer.

The WMCA is also working with ESFA, to understand the support available to apprentices whose learning has been disrupted. This information will be shared with young apprentices as soon as it’s finalised.

The government have launched the Redundancy Support Service for Apprentices and you can visit the website or call 0800 015 0400 to get free advice, find new opportunities, and access local and national support services offering financial, health and wellbeing, legal and careers advice.

Talk to a local careers advisor

If you are 16-18 you can discuss your options with a careers advisor accessible through the Black Country Careers Hub.

All apprenticeships are advertised on GOV.UK’s Find An Apprenticeship website, where you can search for vacancies in your area.

See if your local college can help

Visit the websites for your local colleges in the West Midlands. They often list apprenticeship opportunities – and sometimes they have other opportunities, too.
