Youth Ambassador Board Confirmed for 2021

We are proud to announce our new Youth Ambassador Board for 2021, this exceptional group of Youth Ambassadors support Youth Employment UK and lend their voice to our core aims.

The role of the Youth Ambassador Board is to work closely with our senior team to ensure we are fulfilling our core objectives –

  • To give young people a voice and empower them to be more prepared for the world of work
  • To help organisations be better equipped to support young people and adopt Youth Friendly Principles
  • To ensure that government policy is geared towards the real needs of young people

The Board represents a diverse group of young people who are passionate and dedicated peer role models. Our Youth Ambassador Board meet as a group (virtually for now) every quarter and meet with our full director board twice a year.

You can find out more about our Youth Ambassadors Programme here.

We caught up with the Board and found out what they are most looking forward to this year:

Amran, 22

“This year I look forward to developing my skills, stepping outside my comfort zone, taking on more responsibilities and stepping into leadership roles. I hope to spread my knowledge and advice to young people, especially about things I wish  I knew. In a year’s time I envision myself to be more confident, especially in work like environments”

Ciara, 19

“I am most looking forward to working with the new board members and hearing all of the fresh new ideas that they all have. Supporting ambassadors, contributing and having a positive impact on the work of Youth Employment UK is my aim for this year as a board member.”

Harvey, 22

“I’m super excited to have been re-elected this year. I’ve been volunteering as an Ambassador since 2016 and the work of Youth Employment UK is now more important than ever in the current climate. We want young people who have faced hardship during the pandemic to thrive in future employment. Young people have been hardest hit by the pandemic and it’s our job to support them on their journey.

Jack, 22

I am excited to join the board and support the organisation while helping improve the ambassador programme. If you are worried about volunteering, give it a go as it will be one of the best experiences you will have and you can meet some amazing people who could become life long friends and help you develop along the way. GIVE VOLUNTEERING A GO!

Saida, 17

“I’m looking forward to trying my best to help fellow ambassadors out and contributing to the already amazing work that’s being done by Youth Employment UK”

Sophie, 24

I can’t wait to put young people’s voices at the forefront of current and future youth employment policy development as well as meeting other young people from all walks of life through my role as Youth Employment UK ambassador and board member.
