Working with Youth Employment UK

There are a number of different ways organisations can work with us, utilise and support our work. Our agenda is to tackle youth unemployment and we believe that this can only be achieved through the combined efforts of everyone working in this space.

Here are just some ways you can engage with us:

For schools, colleges or youth organisations

We have created a teacher resource to help you utilise the Young Professional or Careers Hub in your setting. Free to access you will find presentations, lesson plans, posters and much more.

For organisations

The Youth Friendly Employer Award is our main service for employers. It is a kitemark that aims to recognise, help develop and support an employers youth employment practice. We provide extensive advice and resources from building a youth employment strategy from scratch to enhancing work experience or supporting young people with additional needs.

Once you start working with us  to achieve the award we will build you a profile on our careers hub so that you can start sharing your brand with the young people using our site. We will support your campaigns and stories across our network and help you case study and share you best practice in a range of platforms.

Each November we run an a celebration event and will crown organisations across a range of categories youth friendly employers of the year.

Sponsors & Patrons

We have a range of great opportunities for organisations who want to work more closely with us, from sponsoring sectors or sections of the careers hub to our reports, APPG meetings and the annual Youth Voice Census. There is also a limited opportunity for organisations to become patrons, our patrons partner with us on a range of projects.

Supporters

We really value our supporters, those organisations who are not yet ready for the Youth Friendly Employer Award but want to support our work and benefit from being part of our community. There are lots of ways we can work together some of those are listed below:

Promoting your work
We would love for you to write a piece/pieces of content for our site. We have two key audiences; young people and organisation. We provide content to these audiences to help them develop skills and build their knowledge. When supporters share their insight and expertise with us we can signpost to their organisation and raise their profile and opportunities.

If you have any case studies or impact evaluations from the work you have done please do let us know as we are currently creating a What Works resource for funders to learn about UK programmes that support young people into employment. If you share with us your success stories we will look to include them in the What Works resource.

Utilising our resources
The Young Professional and Careers Hub are two brilliant resources that help young people boost their skills and knowledge about the world of work. Some of our supporters embed them into their programmes, either by using the free training materials to help young people become Young Professionals or simply as a signposting resource or what next after a programme finishes. Please do take a look at what is available and let us know if we can help or just be aware of how you might use it.

Accessing information from us
Supporters benefit from a private dashboard on our site with lots of content and information, latest news and policy updates, monthly newsletters, access to APPG meetings and much more.

Our supporters pay a nominal charge of £100 per year which helps us administer the services we provide.
