The Winners of the Youth Friendly Awards 2014

Post by Laura-Jane Rawlings

I was delighted to host the annual Youth Friendly Awards 2014 at Chelsea FC on Tuesday.  The event which was supported by our partner Plotr was intended to celebrate and showcase some of the brilliant work and appetite in reducing youth unemployment in the UK.

In particular YEUK wanted to recognise the fantastic organisations who throughout 2014 have made it their business to be Youth Friendly along with the outstanding Volunteer Ambassadors of YEUK and the most Youth Friendly MP.

The Youth Friendly Skills Minister Nick Boles MP joined the event to present all of our awards, he helped to create a fantastic atmosphere and enjoyed taking questions from the audience after the presentations.

Youth unemployment is still an issue in the UK and it is our duty to keep it high on everyone's agenda but it was fabulous to take a break from the negative and look to the positive in this space.  It has been a phenomenal year for YEUK much has been achieved; our belief in our work and ambition could not be greater and was fueled by the support on Tuesday from partners, members, ambassadors and new friends.

I am really looking forward to the next 12 months and seeing what milestones we can achieve 2015!

Congratulations to all of our winners very well deserved!
