Excellerators is a one week work experience scheme with insight into the professional environment of the City and at Slaughter and May. Students will be engaged in building essential employability skills through interactive workshops, hands-on tasks and networking with law professionals.
The 2021 programme will be virtual so that students in social mobility cold-spot areas can benefit from the unique insights and personal development workshops available. This opportunity will support students who may not otherwise have access to the relevant opportunities.
Eligible students must be in Year 12 at a UK state school at the time of applying and have achieved a minimum 5 GCSE’s at grades 6-9. Students who meet the prime eligibility criteria will be prioritised.
If you are in Year 12 at school and looking for work placements and insight opportunities, we have two schemes available:
Lead in to Law
This is our two year talent development programme run in partnership with diversity specialists Rare Recruitment. The programme is focused on increasing access to the legal profession for students from socially diverse backgrounds. It offers university application support, office visits, mentoring and work experience. Applications open in autumn each year. To find out more and to apply, visit the Lead in to Law page.
If you are unsure about a legal career and want a better understanding of careers in the City, then why not consider our Excellerators Work Insight Scheme? Our virtual scheme aims to reach talented students from less advantaged backgrounds across the UK to provide access to high quality work insight opportunities in a professional environment.
The one week insight scheme will help you gain essential employability skills, access to a range of interactive workshops and build connections to help you realise your career path. Eligible candidates will also have access to Social Mobility Business Partnership’s programme, offering further insight from leading companies to further develop your career aspirations.
The scheme will take place virtually during the week of 26 July 2021 (dates may be subject to change), with a further week offered to eligible students through the SMBP programme during the week of 9 August 2021. Applications close on Sunday 2 May 2021 at 23:59. Email us for more information or to apply.
