Finding Youth Friendly Employers : New opportunity finder launched

We are delighted to launch our new opportunity finder, a database of organisations who have opportunities to support young people.

Youth Employment UK have today launched their opportunity finder.

Filled with organisations who have signed up to The Good Youth Employment Charter it allows young people to look for organisations who provide explore, experience and employment opportunities local to them.

Explore, Experience & Employment Opportunities : what can I expect?

The opportunity finder allows you to filter by type of work (these are sectors) the types of organisation and by explore, experience and employment opportunities by your local area but what do these this cover?

Explore : opportunities that give you the chance to explore different careers and industries including taster days, assemblies and careers fairs

Experience : Work experience can take a variety of forms such as work shadowing, short work experience placements, online and “traditional” two placements.

Employment : A range of employment and training pathways are included here: full time and part time work, Apprenticeships, Kickstart opportunities and graduate jobs.

What are Youth Friendly Employers?

Organisations that sign up to our Good Youth Employment Charter are awarded a Youth Friendly Employer badge so you can recognise them, but what does being youth friendly mean?

Youth Friendly Employers are businesses who REALLY put young people at the heart of what they do.

They offer opportunities like apprenticeships with real career development. They offer proper training and support. They are looking for young people from ALL backgrounds and interests. And they know everyone has to start somewhere.

Youth Friendly Employers carry the #YouthFriendlyEmployer Badge to show jobseekers like you that you matter.
