Hosted by Clarion Housing Group, DCH and the Housing Association Youth Network (HAYN), housing providers will take over the Aston University Conference Centre for two days on 16th and 17th April 2018. Starting with a Youth Inspiration Awards Ceremony on Monday 16th and full conference day on Tuesday 17th April.

Building on the recent success of the Housing Association Youth Network (HAYN), who were recently successful in securing £2.5m for collaborative youth programmes, ‘Room for Young People’ aims to bring those focusing on young people in Housing together under one roof for the first time. Focusing on the journey of a young person, the conference will explore how Housing Associations can develop an inspiring youth offer that unlocks young people’s potential.

The conference aims to who build on the momentum of the HAYN network were recently successful in securing £2.5m for collaborative programmes focused on employment and volunteering.

The conference will be an opportunity for Housing Associations to engage with HAYN, who were recently successful in securing £2.5m for collaborative employment and volunteering programmes, and register their interest to be part of regional HAYN hubs. Delegates will:

– Get access to an established network of partners for future collaboration

– Get information on additional resources for client development including accreditation frameworks, leadership and social action models and impact measurement tools

– Receive guidance on planning and developing funding bids and resource rich partnerships

– Gain an insight into asset-based thinking around young people

Young ambassadors from the Netherlands and England will present their ideas on a ‘Future-proof

Community for Young People’ as well as a range of interactive workshops, engaging presentations

and question and answer panels.
