Business in the Community and Greater Manchester Talent Match would like to invite you to the next of the Employer Workshop series focusing on Future Proof and the Greater Manchester Talent Match programme:
Breaking down the barriers to recruitment
Date: Thursday 14 September 2017
Time: 12.30 – 16.00 (lunch provided)
Venue: DWF, 1 Scott Place, 2 Hardman Street, Manchester, M3 3AA
Many young people from disadvantaged backgrounds face multiple barriers to employment. From having a disability to fulfilling caring responsibilities, the compounding effect of these barriers makes it even more difficult for these young people to find employment. However, by employing people who face these barriers, employers can tap into a hugely underutilised talent pool, which can help to address significant skills gaps.
To tackle this issue, we would like to invite you to a practical workshop, kindly hosted by DWF, focusing on how they can break down the barriers to recruitment for young people who face multiple barriers.
Open to all HR professionals/Early Careers/Talent Managers based in the Greater Manchester area, workshop delegates will have the opportunity to:
- Hear how other companies like GPL have used alternative entry level application processes and referral partnerships to recruit young people who face multiple barriers.
- Receive top tips on how they can implement these techniques in their own organisations.
- Collaborate with other delegates and take part in a group activity to create a more accessible recruitment process for young people who face multiple barriers.
- Hear about some of the success stories of employers hiring young people from the Greater Manchester Talent Match programme and learn about the Talent Match Mark awards.
Spaces at this workshop are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to attend, please sign up here to be added to the guest list.
Please note that by signing up to this workshop, you are happy for your details to be shared with both Business in the Community and Greater Manchester Talent Match. Your details will not be shared with other third party partners.
YOUTH RECRUITMENT MYSTERY SHOPPER OPPORTUNITY
We will also be running a Youth Recruitment Mystery Shopper workshop on the morning of Thursday 14 September, where young people will assess how youth-friendly apprenticeship/entry level job role descriptions are. If you are interested in taking part, please send details of your entry level job role(s) to Joe.Rawlinson@bitc.org.uk before Friday 1 September. By participating in this exercise, you will receive a FREE bespoke feedback report and you will also get to meet the participants over lunch if you attend the Employer Workshop.
